Viu Manent, Gran Reserva Chardonnay 2017, Colchagua Costa, Chile
Tasting Note: A good midweek or back-porch-with-friends chardonnay.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of green apple, honeysuckle blossom, almost-ripened strawberry, pineapple and white peach.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied chardonnay has a creamy texture with medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a medium finish.
A solid chardonnay with good fruit and a straightforward profile that delivers what it promises on the nose.
Bottle Note: The vineyards are planted in the Litueche zone along the coastal edge of the Colchagua Valley, 18 km from the Pacific Ocean and on the southern bank of the Rapel River. This light-greenish-yellow wine has a complex nose with aromas of green apple, citrus, with fruits, and mineral note. This refreshing palate offers good volume, excellent acidity, and a subtle saline flavor on the finish that lends complexity and character of place.
