Vrede en Lust, Viognier 2016, Western Cape, South Africa
Tasting Note: A viognier that shows the sunnier, riper side of the grape.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a nose of green apple, lychee, white nectarine, blossom and rose petal.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied wine is medium in acidity and flavor intensity.
Bottle Note: In 1688 Jacques De Savoye founded Vrede en Lust, meaning “peace and eagerness.” The Buys family started a new era in 1996, and created the unique logo combining the Huguenot cross and the Buys family crest. Our viognier is fermented in French oak barrels. A rich, elegant, well balanced wine that showcases peach, apricot and blossom perfume aromas, along with a hint of spice followed by a long smooth finish.
