Waltz Vineyards, Reserve Chardonnay 2017, Barrel Select Sur Lie, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
Tasting Note: A Pennsylvania chardonnay that channels White Burgundy.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of green apple, pear and blossom with a hint of clove baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied chardonnay has lemony, medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose completing with a green-fruit-infused, medium-plus finish.
There is midpalate complexity and balance without being overwhelming.
Bottle Note: Only the best five barrels were selected for our Reserve Chardonnay. Clones 95, 96 and 76 were aged on the lees 9 months in French oak resulting in a rich taste and a long finish. 245 cases produced. Jan and Kimberly Waltz.
