Waters, Syrah 2014, Washington
Tasting Note: A plush syrah with depth.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of macerated raspberry, red plum, red currant, strawberry, leather and black cherry.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied syrah has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-minus acidity and well-integrated, ripe, medium-plus tannin.
There is complexity along the midpalate with black cherry notes popping up throughout the length of the taste.
A solid new-world syrah.
Bottle Note: Classic, cool climate style Washington state syrah. Open top fermented and gently aged in seasoned, French oak. More on the bright side than brooding. Sure to enhance any meal.
