White Horse Winery, Cabernet Franc 2017, Outer Coastal Plain, New Jersey
Tasting Note: A cabernet franc with body and texture you can chew on.
Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus intensity nose of black plum, violet blossom, pencil shavings and blackberry.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied cabernet franc has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium tannin ultimately completing with a long finish.
The midpalate is complex and enjoyable.
Bottle Note: The cooler climate and sandy loam soils of the Outer Coastal Plain produce some of the best cabernet franc wines in the world. This reserve vintage was hand selected by our winemaker to exemplify the subtle characteristics of the cabernet franc varietal. White Horse wines are inspired by the Vinton family’s five-decade long love affair with wine. Focusing first on French Bordeaux style and later on California wines, we bring a unique combination of old and new world techniques to our winemaking. The label art was created by renowned Brandywine School artist Jamie Wyeth to capture the bold, independent spirit of White Horse Winery. Pairing suggestions: red meat, poultry, hard cheese, pasta.
