Wood Family Vineyards, GSM 2015, Livermore Valley, California
Tasting Note: A grenache-syrah-mourvedre blend that could be your gateway into a GSM love affair.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of red plum, strawberry and white blossom along with hints of violet and raspberry.
On the palate, the dry, medium-bodied GSM blend delivers on the bouquet of aromatics suggested on the nose with medium-plus flavor intensity.
The wine has a soft texture coupled with ripe-fruit restraint.
Bottle Note: Wood Family Vineyards, located on Crane Ridge in the eastern foothills of Livermore Valley, specializes in rich, luscious, handcrafted wines. Made exclusively with local fruit, the limited production wines derive their flavor characteristics from gravelly, well-drained soils, cooling late day breezes and fog from San Francisco Bay. 267 cases produced.
