Zorgvliet, Cabernet Franc 2015, Banghoek, South Africa
Tasting Note: A very Loire-styled cabernet franc with loads to recommend it.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, forest floor, pencil shavings and cedar.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied cabernet franc has mid-palate complexity along with reserved fruit.
There is ripe, medium tannin with a soft and supple mouthfeel.
Bottle Note: This wine was reared on decomposed granite, situation on a gentle and cool southeast-facing slope. The hand-picked vineyards ripen late in the season due to the south-facing aspect and high altitude resulting in a rich and dense wine with an elegant mouthfeel and aromas of blackcurrant and herbs.
