Zuccardi, Serie A Bonarda 2013, Santa Rosa, Mendoza, Argentina
Tasting Note: A substantial, aged Bonarda you can chew on.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of cassis, blackberry, blueberry, rosehip, black cherry and rhubarb.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied Bonarda has medium-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-minus acidity and ripe, medium tannin.
The wine is concentrated, thick, viscous and creamy in texture.
Pair with grilled meats and dishes with heavy sauces.
A red wine with body and there-there.
Bottle Note: The Zuccardi Serie A range demonstrates the richness and diversity of Argentina’s many micro-climate and soils. Serie A stands for “Argentina Series” as the way of expressing our most representative grape varieties by recognizing the best growing regions specific to each, and selecting top vineyard sites along the foothills of the Andes Mountains. This Bonarda has a rich violet color and exudes sensuous aromas of blueberry and blackberry. It is a vivacious wine, full of pure, ripe fruit, yet soft in style with an attractive finish. All grapes are from estate vineyards in Santa Rosa, an area with sandy soil and a desert climate, where the high diurnal thermal amplitude gives the wine deep color and soft, sweet tannins.
