2 Hawk Vineyard & Winery, Darow Series Viognier 2017, Rogue Valley, Oregon

Tasting Note: An old-world leaning viognier with just-ripened, orchard fruit and a light touch of oak.

Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of brioche, biscuit, green apple, lemon citrus, pineapple and apricot.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied viognier has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose along with notes of blossom supported by medium acidity ultimately completing with a medium-plus finish.

The wine has a complex midpalate and impressive length due to 55% new oak.

A viognier that pleases the senses.

Bottle Note: Each vintage presents opportunities to express nuanced differences in the fruit composition and character. We happily use these opportunities to create wine beyond normal expectation. We designate these special wines “Darrow Series” – named after our vineyard’s most prevalent soil type – as a way of showing reverence for our distinct terroir. These extraordinary, age-worthy wines have an impression of wonder for Earth’s bounty and appreciation for human stewardship.
