Angela Estate, Angela Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014, Yamhill-Carlton, Oregon

Tasting Note: An elegant pinot noir that delivers a complex bouquet, silky mouthfeel and supple red fruit.

Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of red currant, raspberry compote, fresh strawberry, blossom, vanilla baking spice and red plum.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied pinot noir follows through on soft, red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with hints of young cedar, underpinned by medium acidity and ripe, medium-tannin.

This pinot noir is very good in quality because of the balance between the fruit and acidity as well as varietal typicity.

Bottle Note: Planted in 2006 with three pinot noir clones; Wadenswil, Dijon 777 and 115, our 34-acre vineyard is nestled in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA of Oregon on ancient marine sedimentary soils. Owned by native South Africa wine producer Antony Beck, the winery was a gift to his wife, Angela. Our wines are feminine, elegant, structured and balanced. The production is overseen by Ken Wright, using our estate fruit to create our signature style. A gift from the Willamette Valley.
