Aubergine, Chenin Blanc Noble Late Harvest 2008, Stellenbosch, South Africa

Tasting Note: A dessert wine that proves there is a future for aged chenin blanc that can compete with Bordeaux’s best sauvignon blanc and semillon blends.

Medium-intensity amber in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of ripe, golden-and-green-apple fruit, honey, honeysuckle, fermented-gold raisin, apple pie, orange citrus rind and peach stone fruit.

On the palate the sweet, medium-bodied chenin blanc has a smooth texture, midpalate complexity, concentrated flavors and a medium-plus finish.

Bottle Note: Exclusively made by Teddy Hall. Harald Bresselschmidt, Cuisinier.

Price: $5 US (February 2018 Currency conversion rate), 65 South African Rand (ZAR) by the glass restaurant price.
