Barton & Guestier Vouvray 2014 – Captures Best Parts of Loire Chenin Blanc Style

Barton & Guestier, Vouvray 2014, Chenin Blanc, Loire Valley, France, Wine Casual

Barton & Guestier, Vouvray 2014 (Chenin Blanc), Loire Valley, France

Tasting Note: This Vouvray captures some of the best parts of the refreshing, underappreciated and affordable, dry, Loire-Valley, chenin blanc style.

Pale lemon in color this wine has a nose of tart green apple and pear and shaved lemon peel.

On the palate the dry, light-bodied Vouvray has a fresh, zesty character with some off-dry notes towards the back palate.

The chenin blanc is high in acidity and expresses minerality through to a slightly chalky finish.

Perfect for summer with low alcohol as are many Loire Valley wines.

Bottle Note: Chenin Blanc 100%. In 1775, thanks to their friend Thomas Jefferson, future president and ambassador in France, Barton & Guestier became the 1st wine shipper to introduce French wines in the USA. Today Barton & Guestier continues bringing the best of the French vineyards to the U.S. B&G, your passport to French wine. Elegant nose with floral notes mixed with peach and pear flavors. Intense wine with a nice refreshing finish. Sushis, chesses, light desserts.
