Barton & Guestier, Vouvray 2015, Loire, France
Tasting Note: An energetic, dry, chenin blanc with flavor intensity and minerality that frolics with your palate.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a nose of quince, green pear, lemon citrus and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied vouvray delivers medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by tight, medium-plus acidity and completing with a bright, medium-plus finish.
There is midpalate complexity and varietal typicity about the wine.
Quintessential vouvray in the best way.
See 2014 review.
Bottle Note: Chenin blanc – 100%. In 1775, thanks to their friend Thomas Jefferson, future president and ambassador in France, Barton & Guestier became the 1st wine shipper to introduce French wines in the USA. Intense wine with a nice refreshing finish. Sushis, chesses, light desserts.
