Billsboro, Dry Riesling 2013, Saw Mill Creek Vineyards, Finger Lakes, New York
Tasting Note: Get ready to pucker!
A riesling you definitely need to pair with food rather than enjoy by itself.
Pale-lemon-yellow in color this wine has a nose of lemon-lime citrus and green pear.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied riesling displays sharp, high-intensity tartness backed by chalkiness, under-ripe granny smith apple, and high acidity through to the very end.
There are some midpalate notes of complexity but they are obscured by acidity.
This riesling is a palate cleanser and definitely something to pair with a meal.
