Billsboro Syrah 2012 – A Silky-Smooth Syrah

Billsboro, Syrah 2012, Sawmill Creek Vineyards, Finger Lakes, New York, Wine Casual

Billsboro, Syrah 2012, Sawmill Creek Vineyards, Finger Lakes, New York

Tasting Note: A silky-smooth syrah from the Finger Lakes with lovely aromatics.

Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of red-and-black plum, dried-crushed violet, black currant and those wild, primal notes common to Northern Rhône syrah.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied syrah is silky smooth in texture with aromas on the nose continuing to the palate as flavors but with slightly-less intensity (medium) than on the nose.

There is ripe, well-integrated, medium tannin as well as balance between the fruit and tannin character.

Bottle Note: This recent sensation in the Finger Lakes is full-bodied and round with raspberry jam and a spicy finish. Pair with grilled steaks and hearty soups.
