Bloomer Creek Vineyard, Café Red, Finger Lakes, New York
Tasting Note: An unpretentious, Finger Lakes, indigenous-yeast fermented red blend that delights with red fruit and shades of depth.
Medium-intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of red currant, raspberry and red plum along with clove baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied red blend echoes the red fruit flavors suggested in the nose but evinced in a ripe, yet slightly-tart style on the attack.
The wine has moments of mid-palate complexity underpinned by shades of depth throughout the length of the taste likely resulting from its indigenous-yeast fermentation.
The wine completes with a lovely, just-ripened raspberry finish.
Bottle Note: Unfined & unfiltered. Bloomer Creek was created by longtime grape grower Kim Engle and his wife, artist Debra Bermingham, over thirty years ago. This small, family run vineyard is a direct expression of their passion for the beauty of the Finger Lakes region and it’s potential to produce world class wine.
