Bodega Elena de Mendoza, Red Blend 2013, Argentina
Tasting Note: A soft expression of grapey malbec typical of the region matches nicely with ruby bonarda which outshines the syrah.
Blackberry taste. Red wine drinkers looking for a full-bodied red will be disappointed, but those preferring a lighter style will be pleased, especially with the bonarda which adds something extra special.
The syrah pleasantly inks this red blend. This is a sipping wine that could be consumed before dinner or by the glass. Would pair wonderfully with meat, especially white meat. May not pair well with all red meat, but those on the softer side, yes.
Bottle Note: Bodega Elena de Mendoza is named after your family matriarch, Elena Napoli, whose parents emigrated from Italy to the heart of Argentina’s wine country in the nineteenth century. Our bold, beautiful wines take full advantage of the altitude, eternally sunny skies, and mountain water unique to our home at the foot of the Andes. This plush, dark red wine is ideal with barbecued ribs. 64% Malbec, Syrah 20%, Bonarda 16%
