Bodega Monte Quieto, Quieto Blend 2010, Mendoza, Argentina
Tasting Note: Another proof-point of Mendoza-red blends being the next big thing from Argentina.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a nose of black cherry, black plum and vanilla-and-cinnamon baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied red blend is filled with jammy, black fruit and medium-plus tannin completing with a long finish.
There are some minor red plum notes that peak above the black character.
Bottle Note: Handtending the vineyard, we carefully grow, select and harvest the grapes from the vineyard surrounding our house in Agrelo. With long macerations, controlled fermentations and proper aging in oak barriques, the bottles rested quietly in our cellar during the following year. This stillness inspired its name. 45% cabernet franc, 40% malbec, 15% cabernet sauvignon. Origin: Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza.
