Bodegas CARO Red Blend 2012 – An Aromatic Red with an Egg Custard Nose

Bodegas CARO, Red Blend 2012, Mendoza, Argentina, Wine Casual

Bodegas CARO, Red Blend 2012, Mendoza, Argentina

Tasting Note: This red blend has a flavor I have only encountered in a handful of high-end South American wines – a flavor I have come to appreciate and adore – egg custard and pumpkin pie.

Aromas and flavors of ripe black berry and baking spice delight on the palate.

This aromatic, complex red answers the question of what wine goes with egg custard – a surprising combination that actually works.

Bottle Note: 75% Malbec, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. CARO was born of an alliance between two wine cultures (French and Argentine), two noble grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec), and two renowned wine families (Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and Nicolas Catena.) Vignerons since the 19th century, these two powerful organizations have combined their deep knowledge of Mendoza’s high altitude terroir and the art of winemaking to create truly unique wine.
