Brick & Mortar, Syrah 2017, West Block, Sonoma Coast, California, Wine Casual

Brick & Mortar, Syrah 2017, West Block, Sonoma Coast, California

Tasting Note: A round, medium-throttle, new-world syrah with a floral, red-and-black fruit character.

Medium-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of red currant, red plum, blackberry, rhubarb and white blossom.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied syrah has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and slightly-grippy medium tannin.

The wine is mostly straightforward in character, with a more complex nose than palate.

Craves mushroom and red meat.
