Cadaretta, Windthrow 2014, Columbia Valley, Washington
Tasting Note: A silky, syrah-dominated red blend that drips in elegance.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, violet blossom, raspberry compote and hints of black cherry.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied red blend is creamy in texture with medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose.
The wine has ripe, supple, medium-plus tannin and has a well-balanced fruit and tannin structure underpinned by medium acidity.
Bottle Note: Our family business has a tradition of doing things right. We began working the land on the Washington State coast in 898, more than 100 years ago. Cadaretta represents our desire and intention to produce one of this state’s finest wines, to carry on that tradition for another hundred years – and more. Windthrow is 76% syrah, 15% mourvedre, 9% grenache. 245 cases produced – 10 barrels, unfined.
