Tasting Note: A silky red blend with Touriga Nacional contributing concentration and florality that lifts consuming the wine into an experience.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, raspberry, blackberry, bramble, strawberry, red currant, hibiscus and violet.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity, red-and-black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and slightly-velvety, medium-plus tannin.

Fruit and floral complexity abound in the midpalate ultimately completing with a medium-plus finish.

Touriga-Nacional and blends that lead with it are where you’ll the find the most-compelling, dry, Portuguese wines.

Bottle Note: In the 14th century, the Dão region was already famed for the quality of its wines. In 1415, King D. João I awarded his son Infante D. Henrique all the regional rights and income from the city of Viseu and conferred the title of ‘Duke of Viseu’ upon him. Duque de Viseu is one of the most charismatic wines from the Dão, produced from the region’s finest grapes, and with a lively ruby-red color. Notes of red fruit and balsamic nuances combine well with hints of wood in which it aged. Elegant and delicate, with a freshness typical of the region, the wine has consistent body and a long finish. Touriga Nacional 57%, Tinta Roriz 34%, Alfrocheiro 9%. Drink at 59°F – 63°F. Serve with meat and cheese.
