Chalk Hill, Estate Chardonnay 2016, Chalk Hill, California
Tasting Note: A chardonnay that channels white Burgundy with light-intensity oak flavors married to just-ripened summer fruit.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of quince, green apple, lemon citrus, nectarine stone fruit, blossom and vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied chardonnay is creamy in texture with medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose with hints of clove and lemon citrus on the medium finish.
The wine has midpalate complexity, flavor intensity and varietal typicity.
A chardonnay to repeat and at a better price point for the quality level than many white Burgundies on the market.
Bottle Note: William P. Foley II, Proprietor. Chalk Hill is located in the Chalk Hill appellation of the Russian River Valley. This wine is handcrafted from grapes grown exclusively on the estate.
