Channing Daughters, Due Uve Red Table Wine 2014, Long Island, New York
Tasting Note: A fun, fresh, red blend.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has a nose of raspberry, red currant, blueberry, prune and blackberry with a dash of black pepper.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied red blend displays medium-plus acidity and tannin.
Acidity presents itself on the attack followed by fresh, black fruit.
Bottle Note: 84% Syrah, 15% Dornfelder. 318 Cases. Due Uve is a delicious red blend based on two grape varieties. This version is created from syrah and dornfelder grapes grown on both Forks. All the fruit was hand-harvested, de-stemmed, crushed by foot and punched down by hand. Raised in French and Slovenian oak barrels, hogsheads and puncheons for twenty months. Cheers!
