Chateau de Coulaine, Bonnaventure Chinon 2011, Loire, France

Tasting Note: Taken all together this cabernet franc is mostly a straightforward expression of the grape varietal and terroir in a decidedly soft-textured style with little mid-palate complexity, yet the wine still provides a view into the overall style of the region.

Ruby in color this Chinon has nose of damp earth, dried mushroom, leather and barnyard mixed with understated black plum fruit.

The wine is soft in texture and medium bodied with the aroma profile carrying forward to the palate.

An earthy, slightly ahead of middle-of-the-pack cab franc for the region.
