Concha Y Toro, Casillero del Diablo Reserva Red Blend 2017, Central Valley, Chile
Tasting Note: A versatile red blend that would pair well with many a dish including barbeque.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of black currant, black plum, red cherry, blackberry and fig.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied red blend has a mix of ripe red-and-black fruit flavors suggested on the nose with a tangy, bright tartness running throughout the length of the taste.
The wine is balanced and has a smooth texture with slightly-grippy, medium-plus tannin.
Bottle Note: Winemaker’s Notes – This red blend’s velvety smooth texture carries focused flavors of ripe black fruit, plum and black cherry upfront, followed by dark chocolate notes in the midpalate. A charming finish is balanced by mild tannins and marked with hints of toast and spice. Food Match – Enjoy this wine with steak with barbeque sauce, rosemary lamb chops, and spicy ribs.
