De Beaurepaire, La Comtesse Chardonnay 2017, Rylstone, New South Wales, Australia
Tasting Note: A chardonnay with an airy light-oak character.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of quince, green apple, white nectarine and blossom with just the lightest hint of vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied chardonnay has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a lemon-citrus-infused finish.
Bottle Note: Our family estate is located in the hills above Rylstone in the Central Ranges of NSW. Stony, sandy-loam on limestone alkaline soils and a very cool inland climate create an exceptional Australian terroir for producing naturally balanced fruit flavors, acids and sugars. Our boutique wines are handcrafted from individually selected parcels of grapes from our 53-hectare vineyard. We seek to create wines with structure, elegance, flavor and food-friendliness inspired by our family’s Burgundian heritage. We hope you enjoy drinking this wine as much we enjoy making it. Richard, Janet, Amanda and William de Beaurepaire. Portrait of Comtesse Marie Louise de Beaurepaire by L.M. Van Loo, 1766. The Palate: Nice ripeness on the palate supported by French oak and a lengthy finish. The Bouquet: Aromas of stone fruit, white peach and lemon.
