De Valloie, Paramour Crémant de Loire Brut, Saumur, Loire, France
Tasting Note: A Crémant d’Loire that has more-pleasing, ripe-fruit notes than most crémant.
Pale-intensity lemon in color with small-to-medium-sized bubbles, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of quince, pear, white nectarine and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied Crémant d’Loire had medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and completing with a medium finish.
There are some notes of midpalate complexity.
Would work well as an aperitif or paired with white-meat dishes.
Bottle Note: De Valloie has long-standing relationships with winegrowers in the Loire Valley where they select the very best quality fruit to make their wines. The mild climate and the clay are ideal for this Crémant de Loire. Grapes are hand-harvested. After the 2nd fermentation in bottle this wine ages for a minimum of 12 months on the lees. With a combination of racy acidity, minerality that grips, and a long creamy finish. Enjoy with poultry dishes and fresh white fish.
