Tasting Note: This is Delheim’s first-vintage of cabernet franc and it is headed in the right direction.

Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of red plum, raspberry, violet, red cherry pie and vanilla baking spice.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied cabernet franc is medium in tannin.

There is concentration and mid-palate complexity with lots of ripe, red fruit.

The wine spent 14 months in new French oak.

Bottle Note: Michael (Spatz) Sperling’s family have been passionately crafting wines of character at their beautiful Simonsberg cellar for more than seventy years. Their hospitality makes visiting worth the journey. An exceptional release of the finest selection of the year’s harvest. Grown on North-Western slopes on decomposed granite with highly-weathered sand fraction: this cabernet franc stood out in the cellar, giving reason to show the wine’s complexity and finesse.
