Dieu Donné, Merlot 2016, Franschhoek, South Africa, Wine Casual

Dieu Donné, Merlot 2016, Franschhoek, South Africa

Tasting Note: A merlot that is somewhat reminiscent of cabernet franc on the nose, but definitively merlot on the palate.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, raspberry, strawberry or blossom.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied merlot has soft, ripe, medium tannin with a mix of red and black fruit.

There is also flavor concentration.

Bottle Note: A full bodied merlot with minerality, dark berry fruit flavors and a soft broad tannin structure. Aged for eighteen months in French oak barriques.
