Domaine de la Croix Senaillet, Saint-Véran, Les Petites Chailles 2015, Burgundy, France

Tasting Note: An aged Saint Véran that has some heft yet remains bright and youthful.

Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of green apple, starfruit, lemon citrus, pear and blossom.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied chardonnay has medium-intensity, green-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a medium finish.

The wine has some weight, notes of midpalate complexity and varietal typicity.

Bottle Note: Domaine de la Croix Senaillet is situated in Davayé in the very heart of the Mâconnais Cru in Burgundy Richard and Stéphane Martin’s family has been making wines at the domaine since 1969, converting to organic viticulture in 2006. Made with 100% chardonnay, noble grape variety, that expresses itself perfectly on clay and limestone soils. The individualized monitoring of the plots combined with traditional vinification offers a dine of great elegance that reflects its own “climate.”
