Domaine De Longue Toque, Gigondas 2015, Rhone, France
Tasting Note: Gigondas is known for being one of the sweet spots for quality and value in the Rhone and this bottle is no exception.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of blackberry, raspberry, red cherry, kirsch, violet petal and leather with a hint of vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied Gigondas has ripe, medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and velvety, medium-plus tannin.
The wine opens up with more time in your glass with more floral and kirsch aromas emerging.
A good pairing with white and red meat – especially grilled.
Bottle Note: Nestled in the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail since 1918, the Domain de Longue Toque is one of the prestigious estates of Maison Gabriel Meffre. The vines are conducted under the Terra Vitis sustainable agriculture practices. This Gigondas is a blend of 3 terroirs of the appellation that create a wine both flavorful and elegant.
