Domaine Grosbois Gabare Chinon 2017 – Complexity Absent Chinon’s Classic Grassy Notes

Domaine Grosbois, Gabare Chinon 2017, Loire, France

Tasting Note: A Chinon with complexity in the midpalate absent the grassy notes that often characterizes cabernet franc from the region.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, graphite, pencil shavings, forest floor and notes of violet petal.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied cabernet franc has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by slightly-grippy, medium tannin.

This Chinon is a 10-block blend.
