Domaine Guion, Cuvée des Deux Monts Bourgueil 2014, Loire, France
Tasting Note: Cabernet franc from Bourgueil tends show more concentration, depth and flavor complexity than Chinon to south, and this bottle is no exception.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity, aromatic nose of black plum, blackberry, raspberry puree, kirsch, crushed dried violet, graphite, lavender and red currant.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied cabernet franc presents restrained, concentrated, black-and-red fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity.
There is midpalate complexity and ripe, velvety, medium-plus tannin.
The cabernet franc is good in quality because of its flavor concentration, complexity and balance between the fruit and tannin.
