Domaine Jaulin-Plaisantin, L’Enfer Chinon 2016, Loire, France
Tasting Note: A full-throttle, classic Chinon with those herbal, grassy elements for which the region in famous.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of forest floor, hay, black plum, dried violet blossom, black tea, raspberry, pencil shavings, cedar and blossom.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied Chinon is concentrated with reserved, medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a long finish.
The wine has grippy, medium-plus tannin and a plush mouthfeel.
