Domaines Baron de Rothschild (Lafite), Le Dix de Los Vascos, Red Blend 2012, Colchagua Valley, Chile
Tasting Note: This violet red blend asserts itself on the nose with green pepper with intense angular blackberry.
On the palate the wine is high in acidity and cuts through any fat left on your tongue.
This red blend pairs successfully with a cheese plate (I know from experiencing it with a cheese pairing today).
Black fruit flavors intensify on the finish.
Bottle Note: Le Dix doe Los Vascos celebrate Les Domaines Baron de Rothschild’s (Lafite) first ten years in Chile. An exceptional cuvee, only produced in extraordinary vintages from the single vineyard “El Fraile” in the grand cru fashion. We select the best estate parcels, hand harvest, hand sort and estate bottle after 18 months of ageing in French Oak barrels. The resulting wine is of world class stature.
