Donelli, Lambrusco di Sorbara, Emilia Romagna, Italy

Tasting Note: A fun, uncomplicated Lambrusco that would pair well with many a meal and can be opened and enjoyed without too much fore thought.

In Italy a house Lambrusco is often served with pizza, so think of this bottle as your better-than-entry-level meal partner.

Medium-intensity ruby in color with medium-sized bubbles, this Lambrusco has a nose of red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, blossom and bubble gum.

On the palate the off-dry, medium-plus-bodied Lambrusco delivers concentrated, medium-plus-intensity, red-and-black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with orange citrus peel and raspberry.

The wine is medium in acidity, with a creamy texture that is midway between spumante and frizzante.
