Faire La Fête, Crémant de Limoux Brut, Limoux, Languedoc Roussillon, France
Tasting Note: A French-countryside sparkling wine that is straight forward, unpretentious and infused with green fruit.
Crémants from Limoux are typically made from the Mauzac grape, a provincial grape that imparts a characteristic green apple flavor.
Medium-intensity lemon-green in color this wine has an aromatic nose of green apple, lime green Sweethearts candy and lemon citrus.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied crémant displays a green-apple character backed by high acidity that ultimately completes with a medium finish.
The body is slightly chalky and rustic in texture with medium-sized bubbles.
Bottle Note: Golden in color with vibrant aromas and flavors of baked apple, white cherry and lemon meringue. The traditional sparkling winemaking method – which originates in the ancient southern French village of Limoux – imparts richness and delicate bubbles to the wine. Faire La Fête, meaning to create a party, pays homage to Limoux, where an annual celebration takes place treating revelers to music, dancing and an endless flow of sparkling wine.
