Tasting Note: This pinot noir from Gary Farrell’s Hallberg Vineyard is filled with reserved red fruit and an attractive silkiness.

Deep-intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, black cherry compote, strawberry, boysenberry and red currant with hints of cedar and vanilla baking spice.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied pinot noir has medium-intensity, red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and just-ripened, medium tannin.

There is nuance in this wine that doesn’t strike you on the attack but emerges the longer you swirl it in your glass.

Bottle Note: No 00745.
