Glenora Cabernet Franc 2012 – Reminds You of the Best Parts of Pinot Noir & Gamay

Glenora, Cabernet Franc 2012, Finger Lakes, New York, Wine Casual

Glenora, Cabernet Franc 2012, Finger Lakes, New York

Tasting Note: An excellent cabernet franc from the New York Finger Lakes!

Red plum and red cherry with a dash of black pepper are the aromas this ruby-colored, medium-bodied cab franc presents on the nose.

Deeper in color and more medium-bodied than many cabernet francs from the region, Glenora’s dry cab franc impresses with its softness, balance of fruit, and medium acidity across your entire palate.

The aromas on the nose carry through to the palate – especially the plum which expresses itself even more.

The wine has a strong finish of ripe-red fruit dusted in chalk of the sort that will remind you of the best parts of pinot noir and gamay.

A delicious find and one I’ll surely sample again.

Bottle Note: Cabernet Franc from Glenora Wine Cellars is a full-bodied, rich red wine, with a lingering finish and gentle tannins. This wine is made from grapes grown on specially selected vineyards in the Finger Lakes appellation. Visit Glenora Wine Cellars, located on the western shores of picturesque Seneca Lake, in the New York State Finger Lakes wine region. Best served with red meats, cheese and grilled vegetables.
