Gonzalez Byass, Tio Pepe, Tres Palmas Fino Sherry, Andalucia, Spain
Tasting Note: You will likely never get the opportunity to taste a sherry like this in your life, but if you get the chance – don’t pass it up.
Medium-intensity gold in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of just-fermented dough, biscuit, brioche and lemon citrus with hints of roasted-almond husk on the finish.
It has all the fresh flavors you expect from a fino sherry but dressed in an amontillado sherry’s clothing.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied fino sherry delivers flavors suggested on the nose with a creamy texture and a tart midpalate that drips in complexity.
