Heritage Oak Winery, Vino Tinto 2013, Lodi, California
Tasting Note: A pleasant blend of syrah, zinfandel and petite sirah.
This purple-colored red blend has a nose of black fruit including blackberry, violet and some cassis notes.
On the palate the wine is medium in tannin with fruit flavors that show well.
Bottle Note: As a young man I went to South America where two momentous things happened: I fell in love and married a wonderful woman named Carmela, and I became intrigued with the red table wine they call Vino Tinto. Like that wine, my Vino Tinto is a blend of grapes. I use zinfandel for zest, syrah for dark fruit and smokey flavors, and petite sirah for backbone. Carmela’s all mine, but I’m happy to share my Vino Tinto wines with you. 200 cases produced.
