Hidalgo, Marqués de Rodil Especial Palo Cortado Sherry, Andalucía, Spain

Tasting Note: A Palo Cortado that checks all the boxes and then some.

Medium-to-deep-intensity amber in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of buttered toast, bread dough, toasted brioche bun, rancio, toasted cashew nuts and roasted almond skin.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied Palo Cortado Sherry has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose coupled with a toasty, medium-plus finish.

A Palo Cortado that leans into more of an Oloroso character than an Amontillado.

The midpalate is straightforward and good.
