Indaba Chenin Blanc 2014 – An Untamed White with a Muscadine Aftertaste

Indaba, Chenin Blanc 2014, South Africa, Wine Casual

Indaba, Chenin Blanc 2014, South Africa

Tasting Note: This chenin blanc from South Africa has the pleasing aftertaste that remains in your mouth after chewing on a muscadine grape – a slightly wild, untamed, feral character that is at once intriguing and sense-heightening.

Lemon yellow in color this wine has a nose of green apple, quince and under-ripe pear and green raisin compote.

On the palate the dry, medium bodied chenin blanc is round yet tart with medium-plus acidity kicking in mid palate through to the finish.

The wine has a slight wild, sauvory quality about it, even as it is clear and crisp; this chenin blanc has strength.

A good value, especially for the price point.

Tasting Note: From the “greenest” wine region on earth, nestled in the smallest yet most diverse plant kingdom this bright and sassy chenin blanc is packed with luscious, citrus fruit and a touch of honey.
