J. Portugal Ramos, Marquês de Borba Colheita 2020, Alentejo, Portugal

Tasting Note: An arinto-led, Alentejo white blend that is balanced and refreshing.

Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of white peach, pineapple, blossom and green apple with hints of lemon zest.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied white blend has medium-intensity, orchard-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and completing with a medium finish.

There are some pleasant chalky notes in the midpalate that give the wine lift and add to the complexity of the blend.

A good example of a white blend from Alentejo.

Bottle Note: This wine is made from 70% Arinto, 15% Antão Vaz and 15% Viognier grape varieties. The grapes are picked early in the morning in order preserve the fruit’s freshness and taken in small baskets to the winery to begin a process in which temperature control is a key factor for producing high quality wines.
