La Bastarda Pinot Grigio 2017 – Stands Shoulders Above the Mass of Flavorless Pinot Grigio in the Marketplace

La Bastarda, Pinot Grigio 2017, Sicilia IGT, Sicily, Italy

Tasting Note: A good-value pinot grigio with more flavor intensity than your average Italian pinot grigio – especially at the price point.

Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a nose of summer green apple, lychee, blossom and lime-and-orange citrus peel.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied pinot grigio has bright, medium-plus-intensity, green-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a medium, citrus-infused finish.

There is balance between the fruit and acidity.

Stands shoulders above the mass of flavorless pinot grigio in the marketplace.
