La Motte, Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Western Cape, South Africa
Tasting Note: A sauvignon blanc that evokes New Zealand.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of green apple, grass, pineapple and grapefruit.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied sauvignon blanc delivers tart green and yellow fruit flavors supported by refreshing high acidity.
There is some mid-palate complexity coupled with flavor intensity.
Bottle Note: This wine is produced by the La Motte Private Cellar, historic landmark in the Franschhoek Valley, home to South Africa’s gourmet capital. The style reflects old-world traditions skillfully harmonized with new-world intensity. Unwooded, with a fragrant tropical bouquet and a distinctive gooseberry middle palate. Firm and full-flavored with a crisp, elegant finish. An aperitif-style, versatile wine.
