Tasting Note: This ruby-colored cabernet franc has a pungent nose of raspberry and black currant; it smells wild like a wine that has not been tamed by oak – which is exactly what it is, an unoaked cab franc.

On the palate tartness and medium-plus acidity dominate the top layer of the taste with fruit flavors riding underneath through to a tart, chalky finish.

This is a straightforward, youthful cabernet franc that will perhaps grow in complexity with age (as do most young people).

The winemaker has given us the ability to taste the affect oak has on cab franc – an education you are not gain easily as a consumer. Pick up this bottle as well as a bottle of their oaked cab franc to experience the impact of oak on a delicate light-to medium-bodied grape varietal.

Bottle Note: Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars produces this unoaked cabernet franc from our estate grown vineyards overlooking Seneca Lake. Fruit for our T23 is specially selected for balance in the vineyard and is picked at the peak of ripeness. Originally produced in our stainless steel tank #23 (T23), this wine is made to express the terroir of our vineyards without the interplay of oak tannins.
