LangeTwins Family Winery and Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 – A Steal for the Price Point

Tasting Note: Purple-to-ruby in color this aromatic cabernet sauvignon has a nose that will remind you of the cabernet sauvignon grape varietal’s origins as a cross between the cabernet franc and sauvignon blanc grape varietals.

From the nose you might think you were about to enjoy a glass of cabernet franc with the raspberry, red plum, violet and cedar aromas.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied wine has a supple mouth feel with red and black fruit infused with layers of light-cassis and hibiscus.

The cabernet sauvignon has a fine-grained oak character that supports rather than overwhelms the fruit.

This cabernet is in perfect balance with layers of fruit and oak that are restrained in intensity and which elevate texture and flavor delivery.

A definite steal for the price point.

Let’s hope word doesn’t get out before I can secure a case.

Bottle Note: As identical twins, it was natural for us to team up in 1974 to continue our family’s agricultural roots. Having grown up playing and working in the vineyards with our father, we learned early on that to be generational, we must be sustainable. Today we are delighted to work together as a fifth generation farm family crafting sustainable wines which showcase our vineyards. Enjoy! – Randall and Brad Lange
