Les Grands Vins de Colette, Chardonnay 2013, Durell Vineyard, Sonoma Coast, California

Tasting Note: A voluptuous chardonnay filled with ripe, tropical fruit.

Medium-intensity gold in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of nectarine, pineapple, golden apple, passionfruit and lemon-citrus peel with hints of vanilla baking spice.

The dry, full-bodied chardonnay had medium-plus flavor intensity supported by medium-minus acidity and completing with a long, golden-fruit-infused finish.

The wine is mostly balanced though it could benefit from higher acidity.

A chardonnay that could be meal by itself.

Bottle Note: California by location, French by inspiration, and historied with noble beginnings, Colette’s story carries a rich tapestry that enfolds you wherever you may be. In honor of our Vietnamese Grand’Mere who, so inspired by French author Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, took the name to match her unbound passion for life.
